Richard Mor de Burgh, lord of Connacht, made good his father's paper grant with twenty years of war and building; from his sons came both the Earls of Ulster and, by the traditional account, the lords of Clanricarde.

✓ RICHARD MOR DE BURGH, Lord of CONNACHT (c.1194-1243), son of WILLIAM FITZADELM DE BURGH (I99721, already in the tree - this rung LOOPS the Ulster earls onto the existing Burke founder); father of Walter 1st Earl (our line). ⚠ TWO SCHEMES NOTE: our wired Clanricarde descent follows O'Hart through Rickard Oge (I99720), 'a younger son' of FitzAdelm; the modern account derives Clanricarde from Richard Mor's own younger son William Og. Both converge on FitzAdelm; the O'Hart chain keeps its ~ grade, and Richard Mor is wired as a separate (eldest) son, which both schemes allow.
