About
Adelaide of Paris (c.855-901), Queen of the West Franks, was the second wife of Louis the Stammerer. Her son was born after his father's death and against the odds of a disputed succession lived to be crowned: Charles the Simple, the king who created Normandy. Through him she is ancestress of the later Carolingians, and of us.
