About
Oda of Verdun was a daughter of Gozelo, Duke of Lower Lorraine, of the great Ardennes house that gave the First Crusade its Godfrey de Bouillon a generation later. She married Lambert of Louvain, and through her son the counts of Louvain rose - the line that leads, rung by rung, to Josceline de Louvain, the Percys, and this family's shortest road to Alfred.
