Fulbert of Falaise

✓ Fulbert of Falaise, father of Herleva, mother of William the Conqueror: William of Jumieges calls her 'Herleva Fulberti cubicularii ducis filia' (daughter of Fulbert, the duke's chamberlain). Later tradition makes him a tanner or skinner; Alberic of Trois-Fontaines (13th c.) calls him 'Herbertus pelliparius' from Chaumont near Liege.
