About
Donnchad Mael na mBo (slain 1006), King of Ui Cheinnselaig, carried the byname; 'devotee of the cows'; that his famous son wore as a patronymic ever after. Of the Sil nOnchon line of Ferns, he was killed by his own kinsmen; his sons Diarmait and Domnall Remar both rose from the wreckage, and Diarmait took all Leinster. His wife Aife of Osraige, mother of his sons, is now in the tree beside him, carrying the Osraige kings behind her.
