Sigehelm ealdorman of Kent

Sigehelm, ealdorman of Kent, fell in 902 at the battle of the Holme, fighting for Edward the Elder against the Danes and the rival ætheling Æthelwold; one of the named English dead in the Chronicle's account. His daughter Eadgifu became Edward the Elder's third queen and the long-lived matriarch of the tenth-century royal house.
